Time Code/Show Notes

0.35  In Episode 1 of ‘Lockdown to Lift Off’ Up Limits Mastermind,                 Chris introduces Aaron McKenzie. Today’s topic is how to improve your health through interactive movement. Focus, Move, regenerate is the mantra as you move through your day-to-day. Get back to basics and live for your goals, not someone elses. Own your choices.

6.20  Are you physically bankrupt? Who are you living for? Invest in the future that you want. You are here to take on a ‘whole lifestyle approach that works.  How can you make your body response-able?

12.00  Will training harder and more frequently get you results? You can only respond to the training based on your current health! Aaron discusses the importance, ritual and wind-down of sleep.

18.00  Sleep. Connect with people you love. Limit the things that drain your energy; devices, negative thoughts, indulgent behaviour. Aaron recommends and illustrates nose-breathing exercises in sleep and high stress.

24.15   Water. Are you drinking enough and what can you put in your H2O to make it more effective. Learn about Celtic sea salt and raw wild honey. Look after your teeth, jaw, and mouth muscles EVERY day.

30.20  Eat organically. Whole fresh food is where it’s at and fasting              WORKS. The over-arching message is to stop eating processed garbage. Consider regenerative agriculture.

39.50  Anti-aging is about holding onto as much muscle mass as you can. Aaron shows you how to build balance with special exercises.

49.20  Back health. Develop movement patterns into old age; highly active people keep going. Keep your “suspension” healthy. Aaron shares more handy exercises and simple things you can do for sleep health regarding spine and neck trauma.

1:02:40   Your body responds well to being in nature. Watch how your kids react to kicking their shoes off. You need the warmth of the sun. Nitric Oxide is a vasodilator and is just as important as Vitamin D.

1:05:37   Alcohol. Are you using alcohol as a tool to de-stress? We do not have the social interactions that used to give us ritual stress relief and this is part of the problem. Over time weight will accumulate. Can you make movement your meditation instead?

1:07.00  If you work hard – and then equally train hard to “beat the fat off your body”, you are going to risk serious burnout. Stop compensating for your mad lifestyle. Be sensible. You should feel the accumulation of the choices you make, progressing into something vastly improved.

1:07:40  The quick re-cap on breathing. One-minute hyperventilation/one-minute breath-hold/one-minute exhalation hold. Aaron teaches you how to use inhalation holds and exhale holds in twenty-second increments.

Hyperventilation breathing saturates your body with oxygen.

Inhalation stretches your lungs for greater capacity and the exhalation hold is learning to deal with the acute stress of carbon dioxide raising. The first breath after results in an enormous relaxation response. Do it once a day!

1:10:30  What are the simple things to remember?

Breathing with the inhale and exhale holds, two litres of water with added salt, whole fresh foods, getting back to movement, walking, and getting to bed earlier. Connect with the people you love.

Don’t make it complicated. Build it into your week.

1:11:30   Nick Psaila details his personal story of how Aaron helped his        “movement” progress. All you need to do is the simple things;  eat, move and be healthy.
